Sufficient is HE

This selection is called 'Believe and Be Satisfied," which I am finding more encouraging now than ever.

Everyone longs to give themselves completely to someone, to have a deep soul relationship with another, to be loved thoroughly and exclusively. But God, to the Christian says, “No, not until you are satisfied and fulfilled and content with living loved by Me alone, with giving yourself totally and unreservedly to Me, to have an intensely personal and unique relationship with Me alone. I love you, my child, and until you discover that only in Me is your satisfaction to be found, you will not be capable of the perfect human relationship that I have planned for you. You will never be united with another until you are united with Me – exclusive of any other desires and longing. I want you to stop planning, stop wishing, and allow Me to give you the most thrilling plan existing – one that you cannot imagine. I want you to have the best. Please allow Me to bring it to you. You keep watching Me, expecting the greatest things. Keep that satisfaction, knowing that I AM. Keep learning and listening to the things I tell you; and you must wait.

Don’t be anxious, and don’t worry. Don’t look around at the things others have gotten or that I have given them. Don’t look at the things you think you want. Just keep looking off and away and up to Me, or you’ll miss what I have to show you.

And then, when you’re ready, I’ll surprise you with a love far more wonderful than you would ever dream. You see, until you are ready, and until the one I have for you is ready (I am working right this minute to have both of you ready at the same time), and until you are both satisfied exclusively with Me and the life I’ve prepared for you, you won’t be able to experience the love that exemplifies your relationship with Me, and this is the perfect love.

And, My dear one, I want you to have this most wonderful love. I want you to see in the flesh a picture of your relationship with Me, and enjoy materially and sincerely the everlasting union of beauty and perfection and love that I offer you Myself. I love you utterly. I AM God Almighty. Believe and be Satisfied.”

I want to learn how to be satisfied completely in Him. I want my heart and mind to fully desire all that He has to offer for me. A friend of mine reminded some of my girlfriends and I with some encourage this morning: "Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out hi love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, who he has given us." -- Romans 5.3-4

It's sad to think that I continue to hesitate to surrender my complete self to the one who loves me more than I can ever imagine.

But I'm learning slowly how to.

Would you know my name...

...if I saw you in heaven?

When you hear the word "heaven," what kind of picture comes to mind? I'm sure that there are millions of pictures of what heaven might just look like. As much as I can picture celebration and happiness, I can see a life in eternity of utter reverence. After all, heaven is the ultimate destination of our Heavenly Father, our Creator.

What a place to look forward to! It's interesting to think that our loved ones, who walked with the Lord, who have passed on are already enjoying and living in the complete presence of God. In what ways, though, could I graciously accept such a gift? I've been given a plethora of blessings and still do not fully respond in a thankful attitude. As a follower, we are encouraged to live for the kingdom and with heaven in sight. That is what we should work towards living for, not rewards or acceptance - we will have both of those in heaven. A gift to dwell with my Creator for the rest of eternity is the best reward we could ever receive - and we should accept it humbly.

While on this earth, we have a purpose to fulfill. Our time on earth is limited compared to the eternity we have to look forward to, but in this limited time we must give of ourselves to the Lord because "He is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us" (Ephesians 3.20). And if we graciously allow him to work through us, He will do incredible things. As hard as that can be to understand and see right now, though, it's encouraging to know that wherever we are right now is where He intended us to be. Allow him to work through the hard times or the joyous times so that you might
know Him more clearly,
love Him more dearly,
and follow him more nearly.
